Día de los Muertos Baking: A Hands-On Baking Experience

Celebrate Día de los Muertos through the warmth, aromas, and cherished flavors of Mexican baking. This hands-on class explores traditional treats associated with the season while giving you the opportunity to learn new baking techniques and the meaning behind these special foods.

You’ll get hands-on preparing Pan de Muerto, the beautifully shaped, lightly sweet bread traditionally made for Día de los Muertos; stir up a warm and comforting Champurrado; and make chewy, golden Cocadas for a sweet finish.

Whether you’re an experienced baker or picking up a mixing bowl for the first time, come ready to learn, create, and enjoy a delicious experience together at The Joyful Gourmet.

Participation Cooking Class: Aprons and workstations will be set up for you while your Chef-Instructor walks you through each course and giving you lots of tips and tricks along the way.

Our Hours

Liz Tinajero

I am a pastry chef currently working towards my bachelor's in food science while working as part of the culinary team here at The Joyful Gourmet. One of my goals in the kitchen is to make baking fun and approachable. As the evening store manager, I strive to make sure everyone has a great experience, whether it comes to introducing you to new kitchenware, sipping on a glass of wine or enjoying our cooking classes. When I'm not at work, I will either be working on my garden or nose deep in a book.
