Get ready to fire up your appetite and roll up your sleeves—because this isn’t just any cooking class, it’s a BBQ party with a purpose!

Menu:

Cowboy Caviar: Kick things off with a fresh, zesty dip made with black beans, black-eyed peas, and a rainbow of chopped veggies. It’s the perfect scoopable bite to set the tone.

Oven-Braised Pulled Pork Sliders: Learn the secret to tender, flavorful pulled pork and build your own juicy sliders, stacked high with creamy coleslaw.

Comfort food heaven: rich, cheesy Mac & Cheese that’ll make you say “mmm” out loud.

Banana Pudding: Wrap things up with a spoonful of the South’s favorite dessert—layers of creamy banana goodness, vanilla wafers, and whipped bliss.

Participation Cooking Class: Aprons and workstations will be set up for you while your Chef-Instructor walks you through each course and giving you lots of tips and tricks along the way.

If you cannot make your reservation, we do encourage you to attempt to find someone that would enjoy attending. We can only issue a credit for you to attend a future event (6 month expiration). Within 72 hours we are not able to offer a credit as we’ve already incurred food and help costs.

Our Hours

Nick Marsalek

Chef Nick grew up locally in Lake County. He developed a love of cooking from his father and grandmother. After high school Nick went to The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. There he completed his Bachelor of Professional Studies in Culinary and Hospitality Management. After completing school Nick pursued his favorite food and worked at Blackwood BBQ and Catering in Chicago. From there, he went to The Chocolate Sanctuary in Gurnee. At the Chocolate Sanctuary Nick piqued his creativity by incorporating Cocoa into every aspect of the restaurant. He produced and executed monthly Themed Chefs Dinners. Taking all his experience, Nick joined the team at Elawa Farm Foindation. He is excited to help implement a food culture based around hyperlocal and sustainable food ways.
