Join us for an immersive, hands-on baking class designed for bread lovers and aspiring bakers! This interactive session is perfect whether you’re a kitchen novice or a seasoned home baker looking to refine your skills. You’ll leave with new techniques, freshly baked bread, and a belly full of delicious Italian flavors.

🔹 Part 1: Brioche Demonstration – Buttery & Rich

Start the class with a demonstration of classic French Brioche. Watch as your instructor, Chef Liz, guides you through the process of making this luxurious, egg-rich dough — from mixing and proofing, to shaping and baking. You’ll learn:

  • The science behind enriched doughs

  • How to incorporate butter properly for the perfect texture

  • Tips for shaping brioche rolls and loaves

You’ll sample freshly baked brioche served with a variety of spreads while learning how this elegant bread can be adapted for sweet or savory dishes.

🔹 Part 2: Make-Your-Own Ciabatta – Rustic & Chewy

Next, roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with authentic Ciabatta dough. You’ll mix, stretch, and fold your own high-hydration dough under expert guidance, learning:

  • Proper hydration levels and fermentation timing

  • The stretch-and-fold technique to develop gluten without kneading

  • How to shape and bake Ciabatta for that signature airy crumb and crispy crust

You’ll take home your very own loaf (and the skills to recreate it again and again).

🔹 Part 3: Build Your Own Italian Sandwich – Fresh, Flavorful & Filling

To wrap up the class, you’ll slice your freshly baked Ciabatta and build a gourmet Italian sandwich using:

  • Cured meats like prosciutto, salami, and mortadella

  • Fresh mozzarella and provolone

  • Roasted vegetables, arugula, and balsamic glaze

  • Pesto and aioli

Enjoy your sandwich with a complimentary coffee or tea.

Hands-On – Participation Cooking Class: Aprons and workstations will be set up for you while your Chef-Instructor walks you through each course and giving you lots of tips and tricks along the way.

I am a pastry chef currently working towards my bachelor's in food science while working as part of the culinary team here at The Joyful Gourmet. One of my goals in the kitchen is to make baking fun and approachable. As the evening store manager, I strive to make sure everyone has a great experience, whether it comes to introducing you to new kitchenware, sipping on a glass of wine or enjoying our cooking classes.
