Come join Chef Gale Gand of Food Network “Sweet Dreams” Fame as she takes the group though a demonstration of 3 desserts featuring vanilla and chocolate. You’ll learn about the ingredients (including world-famous Nielsen Massey Vanilla – made locally!), techniques, hear some great stories from Gale’s prolific career and share tastes of the desserts. This event comes with a mimosa, a glass of wine or a great cup of coffee.
Gale just returned from the Ukraine-Poland border cooking for refugees fleeing the conflict there. Gale’s friend Chef Jose Andres runs World Central Kitchen which provides disaster relief around the world, including in Ukraine. Proceeds from todays event will be donated to World Central Kitchen.
Pastry Chef Gale Gand has two James Beard Awards, had the Michelin two star restaurant Tru in Chicago, owned Vanilla Bean Bakery, hosts Food Network’s “Sweet Dreams”, and authored 8 books. She worked with Julia Child, makes Gale’s Root Beer, went to La Varenne in Paris, is a Pie Contest Judge, and has Kitchen Sisters Cooking School. More info: www.galegand.com
