Welcome to our Pickling Class, where we’re diving into the world of tangy, crunchy, and utterly delicious pickled delights! Today, we’ll be mastering the art of hot pickling red onions, refrigerating cucumbers, and fermenting our own kimchi. From the sweet and sour flavors of our Hot Pickled Onions to the spicy kick of our Fermented Kimchi, we’ll explore the many wonders of pickling. Get ready to add a burst of flavor and excitement to your meals with our Refrigerated Pickled Cucumbers – perfect for snacking or adding a crunch to your favorite dishes!

Thanks for joining us on this tangy adventure! As you take home the finished product, recipes and techniques, remember to experiment with different flavors and ingredients to create your own unique pickling creations – and don’t be afraid to get a little messy in the kitchen!

If you cannot make your reservation, we do encourage you to attempt to find someone that would enjoy attending. We can only issue a credit for you to attend a future event (6 month expiration). Within 72 hours we are not able to offer a credit as we’ve already incurred food and help costs.

Our Hours

Laura Claude

Chef Laura has a diverse background in cultural and culinary arts. Born in an Italian and Korean family, she has a degree in accounting. However, early on in her corporate career, she realized her passion for gastronomy which led her to graduate from Kendall College with a culinary art degree. She worked for various establishments including the Primehouse in River North, and was one of the opening team members of the first Virgin Hotel. Her love language is food and she passionately shares her abundance of culinary mastery with her students. Thanks to her diverse background, her depth in food culture knowledge is limitless. She has a dedicated group of followers who do not miss any opportunity to take her exciting and adventurous classes here at The Joyful Gourmet. When she is not teaching, you will find her in her garden or enjoying time with her children.
